
Madhuri dixit was an Indian actress, who is famous for her performances in the movies 'Beta' "Saajan," and "Hum Hain Koun' . Her career in the industry began in the early 1980s. Her fame was boosted by her part as a supporting actress in the movie Tezaab. In the movie 'Dil' she starred with Aamir Khan. She was raised in Mumbai by an upper-middle class family. At an early age she started to study dance. She tried her hand at acting when she was an teen and it was not easy. A majority of her first films ended in failure. However, she eventually achieved success and was able to establish herself as one of the top actors within the Indian film industry. After her wedding was over, she took a break but returned to the entertainment industry. More recently, she played an important part in the film "Gulaab Gang", which was about the challenges faced by women in India. Dixit has been nominated fifteen times for Filmfare Awards. Eight of these awards she took home. She also received the Padma Shri award, India's fourth highest civilian honor. She is known for her work with the social sector in addition to her work with the social sector.
