Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero (born Patricia Apollonia Kotero) is an American actor, singer and model. She was a model for a while before becoming an actress. She was the lead female singer for Apollonia 6 and co-starred in Prince's film Purple Rain from 1984. The singer and actress christened Apollonia by Prince and became one of a number of female artists in the '80s to benefit from her association with the Purple One. After appearing in minor films (and reportedly refusing to participate in the Purple Rain film Under the Cherry Moon) her name was mentioned and she was part of the 1985-1986 nighttime drama Falcon Crest. Apollonia made her debut in 1988 but the comparatively insignificant collection of songs that incorporated dance/R&B did not impress those who bought music, and the album soon vanished from sight. The singer was still active, though she wasn't in the spotlight as an actress during the decade, albeit with minor film and television roles. Even an exercise DVD was released. Apollonia's Stay With Me album came out in 1997. After that, she went back to college and earned a filmmaking degree as well as a production company often working in television for children.
