Robyn Rihanna Fenty also referred to as Rihanna by the Barbadians is a singer/songwriter. Her hits comprise Pon de Replay, SOS Umbrella, and Take a Bow. A very successful artist still in her prime young age, she's sold over 140 million records and 41 million songs worldwide becoming one of the top-selling performers of all time. Born in Barbados her family listened to reggae and started singing when she was quite young. As a result of the chaos that surrounded her family as well as the disputes her parents were having, she decided to take up music. She soon decided that she wanted to make a profession of a performer. At the age of 16 she joined a group of musicians. They also was able to meet music producer Evan Rodgers. He was amazed by her talents. In order to earn an income as a professional singer, he asked her to move in New York. Rihanna's debut album soon became a hit and was described as a music sensation. The young crowd was captivated by her enthralling songs which had them on their feet. This made her a star in the movie industry. Nowadays, she's a teenage model and a fashion icon. Rihanna uses her fame to the fullest extent her popularity and is a supporter of various charitable causes.
